Nomination pathway
Four steps from nomination to joining.
This is the general route for programmes that admit candidates through defence, security, public-sector, or authorised partner institutions. Individual programmes may add specific requirements.
Eligibility review
Academic, professional, service, and programme-specific requirements are reviewed through the appropriate channels.
NDU-R selection
Meeting baseline requirements does not guarantee a place. Final selection rests with NDU-R.
Joining instructions
Selected candidates receive official confirmation and programme-specific reporting guidance through authorised channels.

Candidates are nominated by the relevant parent institution, followed by final selection by NDU-R. This website does not accept applications.
Who may nominate a candidate?+
Depending on the programme, nominations may come through RDF, RNP, NISS, a relevant public institution, or an authorised partner-nation institution.
Does meeting the requirements guarantee admission?+
No. Seats are limited and final selection remains with NDU-R after eligibility and programme needs are considered.
