Eligibility enquiries
Candidates are nominated through RDF, RNP, NISS, the relevant public institution, or an authorised partner-nation institution.
Meeting baseline criteria does not automatically guarantee admission; final selection rests with NDU-R.
MSc Strategic Studies begins 10 August 2026. DCHS medicine and nursing begin September 2026.
Academics
NDU-R offers a growing portfolio of academic and professional programmes across defence, security, health sciences, science and technology, and officer development.
As a degree-granting university, it is authorised to award degrees, certificates, medals, and honorary distinctions directly.
NDC-R is built around national security and strategy; military strategy, planning and operations; and command, leadership and management.
DCHS programmes should present academic excellence, clinical competence, and service-oriented leadership in health.
RDFCSC should highlight command education, leadership development, strategic understanding, and professional military education.

Life at Campus
Wellbeing, teamwork, dialogue, events, and service activities help build a connected professional learning community across NDU-R.

Research in focus
Research and innovation
Research is part of NDU-R's legal mandate, not an optional add-on. The university is mandated to carry out and promote research in defence and security affairs, organise conferences and seminars, exchange academic experience with national and foreign institutions, and contribute policy and strategy recommendations.
Until IDSS's full public profile is confirmed, this section should focus on mandate, themes, partnerships, and future outputs rather than named centres or publication counts that have not been approved for release.

Partner nations
The website should eventually include a confirmed partner nations strip once the client approves the current list.
